Practical Supports for Doing Intercultural Youth Work

This course will empower youth workers to work appropriately with and engage with young people from culturally diverse backgrounds
Learning content
- Plan effective and sustainable intercultural youth programmes
- Explore guidelines on recruitment and good practice
- Understand the needs of young people, their parents and volunteers from a minority ethnic background in relation to youth work
- Examine current youth work practices in participant’s own organisations
- Understand terminology of interculturalism and cultural diversity
- Address the issue of cross-cultural communication
- Identify resources for working with culturally diverse young people, parents and volunteers.
Duration: 1 day
Course fee: €50 per person or €400 per organisation
Designed for: Individuals who engage with young people in out of school settings
Numbers: The minimum number of participants that is required to run this course successfully is 10 and the maximum 25.
Available by request by organisations or on demand if enough individual youth workers put in a request for a training to be scheduled.
